  • Do you use any cutting agents in your vapes?
No. Only natural plant terpenes. The CO2 derived cannabis terpenes we add back to our standard vape oils are created in-house by Lucky Turtle. Our highway distillate contains only our in-house extracted cannabis terpenes. Our standard vape oils are approximately 80% of our in-house extracted cannabis terpenes. The other 20% are other organically-derived plant-based terpenes. We started at 100% cannabis terpenes but reduced them due to lung harshness. Our 80/20 ratio is the perfect balance of maximized cannabis terpenes and gentle lung feel. Do not buy cartridges cut with PEG or Coconut Oil. Why smoke potentially dangerous additives if you don’t have to?
  • How do I care for my cartridge?
Keep it away from temperatures above 120°F. A hot car will almost certainly destroy a cartridge. Best practice is to keep your cartridge vertical. It’s also ok to keep it attached to the battery.
  • Can I refill my cartridge?
Our current standard design was not intended to be refilled. To get a refillable cartridge, purchase the Lucky Turtle Pro Pack.
  • What makes Lucky Turtle cartridges so reliable?
Honestly, EVERY cartridge on the market is made in China. And ours are no different. There are zero US manufacturers. However, we had someone in China seeking out multiple manufacturers directly (most sources from China are brokers claiming to be manufacturers). We stress tested these cartridges ourselves, taking them on rough mountain bike rides in the back of a camelbacks, hikes to the top of Long’s Peak, placing in hot cars, and connecting to various battery types. We chose the most reliable hardware and still see about a 2-3% failure rate. To reduce this rate further, we quality test 100% of our cartridges in-house before they ever see a dispensary shelf using our custom testing protocols (this one is our secret). For this reason, we see just under a 0.2% failure rate in the field. That’s 2 cartridges out of every 1000. These failures are typically caused by hot cars, the biggest threat posed to a vape cartridge. As a result, we see an increase in failure rates in the summer months.
  • My vape cartridge looks partially filled?
Our vape cartridges have a reservoir that is 0.6mL. Our vapes are filled to 0.5mL creating a small head space of air in the top of the cartridge. This head space is necessary for proper operation of the cartridge. Additionally, after filling and use, the coils can fill with oil which may cause one vape cartridge to appear to have less oil than a cartridge standing next to it. Our staff perform quality testing on every vape batch we fill. This includes a weight check during filling. We ensure every cartridge and disposable contains at least the amount of oil we report on the package.
  • Are your products organic?
The USDA refuses to certify cannabis as “USDA Organic” because it is federally illegal. However, our cannabis oil is extracted only by us from cannabis grown using organic protocols without synthetic pesticides, herbicides, or fungicides. We inspect all our grows and do not source any outside oils. All Lucky Turtle cannabis oil is made right in our manufacturing facility.
  • What is the tincture base?
Our tinctures are kosher vegetable glycerin and ethanol based. The ethanol aids in sublingual absorption and shelf-life freshness while the vegetable glycerin provides natural sweetness
  • Why sublingual for your tinctures?
Sublingual consumption allows passage directly into your bloodstream, bypassing the first-pass metabolism in your stomach and liver. It allows for roughly 30-35% adsorption versus 10-15% through standard edibles. As a comparison, smoking/vaping is 40% adsorption.
  • How do you sweeten your tinctures? And is there sugar?
The primary sweetener is vegetable glycerin which is naturally sweet. We do not add any sugar making this product ideal for diabetics or those looking to reduce their sugar intake.
  • Are your tinctures vegan?
Yes, Turtle Tinctures are 100% vegan.
  • Are your tinctures gluten free?
Yes, Turtle Tinctures are 100% gluten free.

  • Will adding tinctures to cooking recipes ruin it?
Nope. Our tinctures are perfect for cooking or baking into your own homemade edibles. While it is true that high heat can degrade cannabinoids, the temperatures and exposure times used for cooking or baking are not enough to cause any significant degradation.
  • How do I take tinctures sublingually?
Using a full pinch of the dropper bulb, squirt one or two droppers under your tongue and hold for 30-60 seconds. This bypasses the first-pass metabolism in your stomach and liver increasing the overall adsorption and the quickness to effect. This is our recommended delivery method. You will get the best bang for your buck as the cannabinoids are more efficiently absorbed.
  • I just got your tincture, how much should I take?"
We recommend starting with a single full dropper daily. For CBD-containing products, CBD builds up in your system over time, so make sure to take consistently for at least a week. If you don’t feel the desired benefits, increase this to a dropper in the morning and a dropper full at night. A full dropper requires a full depression of the plunger. We have many customers and staff that use a mix of Restore and Balance. Balance is very helpful for insomnia while Restore is great for reducing inflammation and issues caused by inflammation in the body. Our tinctures complement each other well. You can take Restore in the morning and Balance at night, for example. Make sure to take sublingually for maximum absorption. Hold under your tongue for 30-60 seconds before swallowing. This prevents it from processing in your liver right away.
  • Can I vape your tincture?
No. Our tinctures are really meant for sublingual use. The have a base of ethanol and vegetable glycerin and while it’s not going to harm you, the ethanol would be harsh on the lungs. A lot of e-juice companies add ethanol but only very small amounts to thin the e-juice. Also, the potency of the THC/CBD in the final formulation isn’t high in comparison to our vape carts with straight CO2 oil so you likely wouldn’t feel any effects from the cannabis. We sell syringes of CO2 oil for adding to existing vape cartridges if that’s what you’re looking for.
  • I have a variable voltage stick battery, how do I work it?"

  • There are solid particles in my Restore? It seems to be crystallizing. What should I do?
Restore is a highly concentrated solution of CBD. At these potencies, CBD can crystalize out of the solution. This is completely normal, especially when held at cold/cool temps. You can run the bottle under hot water for a minute or two and shake to put it back in solution. It’s not uncommon to have to do this a few times over the life of a bottle. You can also uncap it slightly and microwave for 3 second intervals, cap and shake. With either method, you won’t run any risk of degrading any cannabinoids.
  • What ratio of CBD:THC should I choose?
Great question! Ultimately, it is up to your own personal tastes and we recommend the trial and error approach. However, users say the lower ratios of 1:1 and 2:1 tend to be most helpful for pain, inflammation, and sleep, with a mild to moderate intoxication level. The most common feedback is euphoric, peaceful effects with a full-body high. The mid 5:1 and 10:1 formulations are reported to have clear-headed, uplifting effects with anxiety and stress relief and mild to rare impairment. The 25:1 is unlikely to get you high at all but you’ll get the max benefit of the CBD with the small amounts of THC adding to the synergistic effect.
  • I’m new to CBD vaping, where should I start?"
Education. Plain and simple. Read up on CBD. Unfortunately, we cannot make health claims because we sell the products (FDA rule), but there’s plenty of information freely available on the web. If you’re new to cannabis, we recommend taking one full inhale, exhale, and waiting at least 15 minutes for its effects to kick in.
  • My high CBD vape cartridge is crystallizing, what do I do?"
This is especially applicable to our 25:1 High CBD cartridge. At such high concentrations, CBD tends to crystallize out of the solution (called “crashing out”). It needs to be put back into solution which is easy to do using gentle heat. CBD melts at 70 C (~160F). Follow one of 2 ways: Remove cartridge from battery. Place in oven at 200 F for 5-10 minutes. Make sure the vape is standing upright. This prevents any leakage through the mouthpiece. Do not put your battery in the oven! Remove cartridge from battery. Place in a waterproof bag like a Ziplock with as much air pushed out as possible. Run the bag under hot water for ~5 minutes until the CBD is liquid again. This process can be repeated as many times as needed.
